September 2013 Outfit/Wish List

Hello everyone, as sad as a lot of people might be, I'm actually glad that Summer is over and done with. I've never been a fan of overly warm weather; I much prefer it when it's cold outside. There's a lot of clothes and just general bits and pieces that I really want to buy for Autumn and Winter, some of which I've put into a sort of collage below.

1. Motel Rocks - Motel Catalina Off Shoulder Skater Dress - £38
It's probably been said a million times before, but it's true, every girl needs a little black dress in their wardrobe because the styling possibilities are virtually endless. The photo I've used really doesn't do this dress any justice at all. This gorgeous little number is something I would prefer to dress up rather than down, simply due to the dress being off the shoulder in style. I would style it with the socks, shoes and lipstick mentioned below and in the collage above!

2. Office - Ready Or Not Red Suede - £60
Heels of any colour would probably work with this dress, however I chose some bright red ones to add a pop of colour. I think these heels, especially because of the strap, together with the socks would make this outfit look very cute.

3. Topshop - Oat Polka Dot Lace Trim Socks - £3.50
Socks are never something that I go out with the specific intention to buy. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I bought any but this pair on the Topshop website really caught my eye. I love how pretty and vintage they are, especially with the black, lace trim around the top.

4. Mac Cosmetics UK - Russian Red Lipstick - £15
Despite being a complete lipstick junkie I have never owned a Mac lipstick before, shock. I don't tend to wear red lipsticks that often - I tend to sway more towards pinks or red glosses. However, I know that Mac lipstick's are very popular and I've heard this particular colour mentioned many times before. I'd really like to give them a try.

Tuesday Rambles

Hellllooooo everyone, since it's been over a week since my last blog post and I still haven't come up with any amazing ideas, I thought I'd just have a bit of a ramble and see where it takes me...

A few days ago I visited Chester Zoo; admittedly I was feeling quite pessimistic about the whole trip, especially because family days out aren't really my thing. Being an animal lover meant that my attitude soon changed and I found myself saying, "I just want to cuddle it!" to every single creature I saw, despite knowing that a lot of them would probably eat me alive. My favourite zoo animals by far are elephants. I'm not sure why, but I think it's because they remind me a lot of myself, that being, slow and not really being that interested in doing a great deal.

As some of you will know iPhone batteries are not the greatest and so unfortunately I didn't get chance to take any photos that were really worth posting.

Prior to this I also received my GCSE results which I am relieved with to say the least!

I also went bowling with a group of friends, something I wouldn't normally do because I thought I hated it. I actually really enjoyed myself; we all had a great catch up and I bought myself some nachos and chilli sauce. I don't think that day could have gotten any better!

Mary, Ria, Me, Eleanor, Jade, Anna and Zoe

Nachos make me very happy :)

This has been a really pointless and poorly written ramble but please excuse me because it's past my bedtime, yawn...

Welcome to my blog!

Introduction
Hey everyone and welcome to my blog :) I'll start by telling you that I honestly have no idea what I'm doing and I'm already confused by this website. I really needed to try something new and since I've been wanting to start a blog for a while I thought that now would be the perfect time. I don't really have a set theme in mind for my blog but that might develop over time, we'll see. For now it'll probably feature shenanigans from my life that may or may not interest you. At the moment I don't have any set days for posting, I'm just going to write when I feel like it or when I have something to share (if it's appropriate) with everyone.

I've always loved writing, it's one of very few things that I've always had the natural ability to do and thoroughly enjoy at the same time. Some of you may be here from my tumblr and if so you'll probably have noticed that for the past year or so I've been spending unhealthy amounts of time on there. I've realised that there will never be an easy way to pry me away from a computer screen and I'm not ready to kick the habit just yet. I'm more for broadening my horizon's on the internet by trying my hand at a different kind of blogging rather than just reblogging other people's photos on a website that serves no fulfilling purpose for me any more. It's turned into a nasty habit and an addiction, one I don't wish to have for much longer.

About Me
So now you know why I'm starting this blog I think I should probably tell you some more about myself...
My name's Amy and I'm from Manchester in England. Wow, I feel like I'm writing an ad for the dating section in a newspaper. As I mentioned previously I love writing and I wish to somehow eventually make a career out of it. I can remember writing stories as a small child and drawing pictures to go with them; I had an extremely vivid imagination, some of which I'm sad to say I lost upon starting secondary school. However, before the summer I started writing a novel. I've taken a complete break from writing over the summer; for weeks I haven't written in my journal, I haven't written any poetry and like I said, I've taken a break from writing my novel. Once I get into the routine of college I'm sure I'll be back to writing everyday, yay!

Fashion has always been something I've been extremely interested in and I think my grandma has a part to play in that. As a child I would dress up in her colourful heels, scarves and jewellery and so from an early age I've felt that fashion is one of the best ways for me to express myself without me having to really say anything. Up until a few years ago I would sit and draw up my own design's for clothes, shoes and bags. Admittedly they were appalling but I've definitely learnt from the many disasters. As well as being a writer I would absolutely love to have my own boutique or fashion company. Designing my own pieces and then actually have people buy them would probably be one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. If people bought my books and clothes I would definitely be able to say that I made it in life!

My music taste for some people has proved a little odd but the bands I listen to keep me somewhat sane and for that I am eternally grateful. My music taste varies mainly from indie rock to metal along with other bands in between. My favourite band to grace the Earth is Green Day, not only do they make great music they're also great people. Other bands that I listen to regularly are You Me At Six, All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Biffy Clyro The Courteeners, Fall Out Boy, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil and The 1975. I also worship Avril Lavigne.

However, before I had even learnt how to write, discovered my love for fashion or began to appreciate the way that song lyrics fit with a guitar riff and a drum beat I fell in love with horses. At the age of three I rode a Shetland Pony that belonged to my grandma's friend for the first time. At the time I never realised just how special and important horses would be in my life all these years later. Horse riding is honestly second nature to me now and if I were to stop then a part of me would be missing.

And that's all there is to me really - writing, fashion, music and horses. I hope you enjoy my blog :)
